CROPPING
OTHER PEOPLE'S PHOTOS... That's how my interest in photography began, back in 1970-72, while laying out pages for our high school yearbook. Many, many years later - after discovering the joys of imaging software - I bought my first digital camera and began the pursuit of a computer hard drive (now two!) filled to capacity. I make no claims of expertise, but am a Highly Enthusiastic Amateur. Having made the move from upstate New York to the UK in 1988, I'm very much at home here. (Can queue and drink tea like a native, 'though these days most of them are sipping Starbucks.) For several years, I'd financed my digital-cameras-and-assorted-peripherals habit by working as a librarian at an English university. (Rapidly receding areas of expertise: electronic journal wrangling, explaining the hows and whys of online databases, designing web pages by committee.) However... in September 2004, I moved over to 'the other side' - becoming a full time student on a Foundation Degree course in Multimedia. And now? Well, since January 2006, I've been working as a Media Developer at the other university in town. (Ah, the joys of receiving a regular paycheck once again!) If you're interested in any of the above, or in taking and manipulating digital photos, I can be reached at: lining_up@dont-blink.net. |
